Enjoy the read! :)
We chose the “Conspiracy of Darkness” escape room by "Red Aurum" because we wanted to try something mysterious, atmospheric, and not too scary. The children featured on the escape room’s main page made us a little hesitant, as we thought the game might be aimed more at kids, while we were looking for something a bit more challenging. However, our game master reassured us that the experience would be challenging enough.
We had 90 minutes to find out if she was right.
Plot. Vampires walk in daylight, werewolves transform at the new moon — ancient enemies have formed an alliance, and humanity stands on the edge of eternal darkness. Their weaknesses have vanished. Only one way remains: find the Heart of the Night — the source of power of the oldest vampire — and take away his dominion.
Your mission leads through a wolf’s cave, where the stone remembers the roar of beasts, and then to an aristocratic mansion where shadows know every step. Locked passages, clever mechanisms, and puzzles that close like fangs await you. You must act quietly, quickly, and together — every breath, every whisper, and every decision matters.
Will you dare to reach for the Heart of the Night before it reaches for you? Gather your team, cross the threshold, and feel the thrill that won’t let go until the very end. Warsaw, it’s time to stand against the darkness.
As described, the game is divided into two parts: the werewolf room and the vampire room. In each one, you’ll need to work hard as a team to make progress.
The escape room features parallel puzzles, meaning you can split up and tackle different puzzles individually if you want to, potentially speeding up the game. However, there is still one main puzzle that must be solved before the story can progress.
Overall, there are no unexpected plot twists. You simply work your way through the game, completing one task after another.
Atmosphere and Design. The escape room is exceptionally well put together. Each room is thoughtfully designed and filled with beautiful, intriguing decorations. The dim lighting and unobtrusive background music help you immerse yourself in the atmosphere and concentrate on the game.
We also loved how some of the puzzles were integrated into the setting and how they added to the story you get to experience firsthand.
Everything worked perfectly from a technical standpoint, too: the puzzles functioned smoothly, the sound effects were there, and the hint system worked as intended, although we didn’t need to use it. :)
Puzzles. This was fantastic! As mentioned above, you can split up and solve puzzles individually, team up in pairs, or, if things get really tricky, bring everyone together for a full-team brainstorming session.
The game features all kinds of challenges: teamwork, dexterity, observation, and, of course, logic.
There are plenty of puzzles, and some of them will really make you work for it. But if you pay close attention to your surroundings, you should be able to solve them all!
Verdict. The game turned out to be highly atmospheric, with just a hint of darkness. The variety of puzzles adds an extra dose of adrenaline and excitement.
We’d recommend this escape room to groups of friends, as well as families with children aged 12 and up, so the younger players won’t be too frightened by the darkness. :)
A fantastic escape room that leaves you with a great aftertaste!
